International Auction of Artifacts from the Museum of Business History & Technology

The Challenge

The Museum of Business History & Technology wanted to send a portion of their collection to auction in Germany. The lot of over 1,000 antique business machines included typewriters, cashier machines, telephones, early monitors, presses, copiers, and other types of machines. The items are typically heavy, sensitive, and had to be received in Germany without damage. In addition to these factors, the items had to be packed and shipped within a two-week window.

The Solution

Wayne Moving & Storage provided a team with the knowledge and experience required to pack the fragile antiques in a way that would allow them to survive oversees shipping. Wayne provided the materials needed to pack or crate each item, created shipping manifests, and turned over the items to the shipper ahead of schedule to ensure that the items were received in Germany prior to the auction.

The Result

Wayne Moving & Storage accomplished the project within the timeframe allowed and within the budget set at the beginning of the project. In addition, the auction house reported zero damages to any of the items shipped allowing each item in the collection to be auctioned as planned.
